DIVING INTO BOZZUTO’S GROWING FLORIDA PORTFOLIO
It’s 5 p.m. in Miami, Florida. While many people are wrapping up their work for the day, the Bozzuto Parc Station team is still going strong, ready to host a Cinco de Mayo cocktail party for residents in the pool lounge. Set against a colorful Miami sunset, the party features an array of creative cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, all impeccably displayed on a festive table. As residents arrive, the team greets each one with a friendly smile, thanking them for attending and making personal introductions to other residents.
This party is just one of many sensational events the Bozzuto Florida teams facilitate throughout the year. Each Bozzuto-managed community has imaginative amenity spaces that make their residents’ living experiences truly extraordinary. The on-site teams brainstorm seemingly endless possibilities of how to effectively use their amenities, bringing them to life through creative events and programming.
“The amenities at the communities give us an amazing opportunity to activate the spaces and enhance our residents’ living experience,” explains Miguel Meza, Midtown Five General Manager and former Property Manager at Milagro Coral Gables. Both communities are in Miami, Florida. “You begin to see how the spaces have more uses. At Milagro Coral Gables, we implemented aquatic fitness classes like spin cycle to promote pool usage. We created a group fitness program so residents can partake in active events in addition to social ones.”
Like Meza, Parc Station Property Manager Chris Ballapiatt believes in making the most of the amenity spaces at his community. “Our residents love our amenities, whether they’re grilling on our outdoor patio or enjoying one of our fitness classes,” he said. “We want to make the best use of our amenities outside of their conventional uses. Recently, we hosted a live music performance with a reggae band at our pool and sun deck. These spaces are amazing, and maximizing them presents a fantastic opportunity to foster community.” The team focuses on building key relationships with neighboring businesses, whether featuring local coffee in the hospitality bar or serving catered cuisine from a nearby restaurant at resident events.
Showcasing top-notch amenities and exceptional service has been a hallmark strategy in the nearly three years since Bozzuto’s entrance into Florida as a management services provider for The Palms, a 340-unit, garden-style community in Davie, Florida. This entrance signified a meaningful opportunity for Bozzuto to bring our unparalleled service offerings to a new region. Bozzuto Management Company (BMC) Senior Vice President of Operations in the South Florida region Keri Walker Pfeifer and Regional Vice President Lauren Athas relocated to the region to support Bozzuto’s presence, growth and investment in the region, providing on-the-ground assistance to the local communities.
Entering the Florida market also meant establishing Bozzuto’s high standards and core values in a new environment. To achieve this, it was paramount to identify an exceptionally talented team. BMC dedicated a recruiting team to build a strong bench of talent in Florida, a dynamic group capable of demonstrating the core values and bringing Bozzuto’s standard of excellence to the area.
Anticipating the strong bilingual population of the area, two of these recruiters fluently speak a second language. “No matter where we are, Bozzuto is committed to knowing every aspect of our regions, prospects and residents while meeting their needs and standards,” said Pfeifer. “Bozzuto embraces our residents’ and employees’ cultural differences and builds a model to complement them. That’s what makes these communities unique and special.” After three years, Bozzuto is proud of their close-knit Florida group of talent. In turn, the team is grateful for local leadership. Midtown Five Assistant General Manager Lorelai Villa described her first impression of the regional operations team. “From the first time I met Keri and Lauren, I immediately felt a strong sense of support and encouragement. This has influenced the network of the Bozzuto South Florida team. When I first joined Bozzuto and was acclimating to the standards, Chris Ballapiatt at Parc Station also offered incredibly helpful guidance.”
Bozzuto’s presence in Florida goes beyond sun-soaked patios and clear, blue pools to active plans for expansion. The cohesive team is ready to bring sanctuary to new residents and employees. “It’s an amazing opportunity to be with Bozzuto,” said Ballapiatt. “I want to grow Bozzuto’s legacy in Florida and I approach my job as if my last name is Bozzuto to support that.”Learn more about Bozzuto Management
